Good News for Millennials: Jaya Grocer flagship store has opened in Sunway Pyramid
Jaya Grocer has always been my go-to place for groceries, so I was thrilled to hear about the grand opening of their new flagship store at Sunway Pyramid on 1 November 2024. The upgraded location, replacing the previous one at Sunway Pyramid, has brought a fresh and exciting new vibe to the mall's latest extension wing. With its revitalised layout and exclusive offerings, it’s clear why Jaya Grocer continues to be a local favourite—and my personal favourite as well.

KLSCM 2024: 42,000 Runners Taking to the Streets of Kuala Lumpur
The country’s premier distance running event, the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon (KLSCM) 2024, kicked off its 16th edition today with its largest number of participants yet. 42,000 runners will be converging on the iconic Dataran Merdeka over two days on 5 and 6 October, with the 5km, 10km and Kids Dash categories having taken place on the first day. The blue-ribbon Full Marathon and Half Marathon categories took place on day two with intense competition expected from the top runners.
The Boost Juice 10km got the ball rolling where in the Men’s Open category, KLSCM debutant Japhet Rono from Kenya clinched the win in a time of 33:14. “This is my first time participating in the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon and although I didn’t expect it, I thank God for giving me the strength to win,” said Rono. “I look forward to participating in the next edition in 2025,” he added.

Japanese Airlines, JAL and ANA Offering Free Domestic Flights for International Travelers
In the travel industry, there is a term for Japan called the Golden Route. It basically means the popular travel route of travellers from Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka or vice versa. The reason why this is a common route for travellers to Japan is because there are three major international airports (Haneda, Narita and Kansai Airport) connecting two major cities, Tokyo and Osaka for international travellers to fly into. Plus, the Shinkansen connects all three cities, making it a kill three birds in one situation for tourists.
But as a result, overcrowding and an influx of tourists to these areas has become prevalent. To combat this, Japanese airlines like ANA has introduced discounted or complimentary domestic flights to other parts of Japan when booked with your international flights. I have used this service quite a few times to travel to Sapporo, Okinawa and Nagoya and I will share that it was very convenient for jetting across the country without having to touchdown in the major hubs.

KLSCM 2024: The Best Excuse for a Runcation
I am no stranger to the concept of a runcation. Heck, it's easier telling people you are flying off to Japan yet again for a marathon than it is telling them you are simply just flying off to Japan for the umpteen time for fun.
For many foreigners outside of Malaysia, the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon (KLSCM) is exactly just that runcation for them.
KLSCM has firmly established itself as the premier distance running event in Malaysia, attracting thousands of runners from all corners of the globe. As we approach the 2024 edition, taking place on the 5th and 6th of October, this celebrated race promises to be bigger and better than ever. With a record-breaking 42,000 participants expected, including local and international athletes, this marathon has become a much-anticipated annual highlight.Tuesday, September 17, 2024
5-Days Self-Drive Autumn Itinerary around Kawaguchiko, Japan
Like most people who have visited Tokyo, Japan, Kawaguchiko was definitely on my list of places to explore - famous for its generous views of Mount Fuji and lake. The town is easily accessible by train and highway bus and getting around the town itself can be done on foot, car, bike or even by their local bus.
So naturally when I dragged my group of friends along for the Fujisan Marathon, I was determined to make the most of our 4 days in Kawaguchiko and even then, we didn't cover everything. I have visited Kawaguchiko before in 2017 on a solo trip, during which I ran and cycled around the lake and has since been in love with the town. This was of course simpler times when the town was still relatively under the radar for most.
